NEW  - LEGENCE BANK SALUKI COMMITMENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The Legence Bank Saluki Commitment Scholarship in partnership with SIU will provide eleven (11) full-ride scholarships annually to students from communities where Legence Bank branches are located. Each scholarship will offer up to $2,500 per student, per year as capstone funding, closing the financial gap for tuition and mandatory fees. Legence Bank hereby makes a 5-year commitment to funding this scholarship program.

  • Recipients must be incoming undergraduate students.
  • One student shall be selected from each of the following Legence Bank service areas in Illinois: Benton Consolidated High School (Benton, IL); Carbondale Community High School (Carbondale, IL); Eldorado High School (Eldorado, IL); Galatia High School (Galatia, IL); Harrisburg High School (Harrisburg, IL); Johnston City High School (Johnston City, IL); Marion High School (Marion, IL); Massac County High School (Metropolis, IL); Mt. Vernon Township High School (Mt. Vernon, IL); Gallatin County High School (Shawneetown, IL); Vienna High School (Vienna, IL).

You can apply via the main scholarship page for SIU, https://scholarships.siu.edu/, or the landing page for the Saluki Scholarship Portal, https://siu.academicworks.com/.

The DEADLINE for the scholarship is set for 4/1/25.

If you have any questions you can contact the SIU Financial Aid Office, 618-453-4628 or email [email protected].

FYI - The way the Saluki Scholarship Portal works is that all students admitted to the university are automatically added to the scholarship portal, along with their demographic information. This means that all admitted students that meet the qualifications for the Legence Bank Saluki Commitment Scholarship are automatically pulled into the applicant pool for the scholarship without any additional work on the part of the student. All new incoming undergraduates who graduated from one of the eleven high schools listed in the agreement will automatically be applied for the scholarship as soon as they’re admitted to the university.

Legence Bank and American Farm Mortgage & Financial Services award scholarships every year to help the students in our community pursue their educational dreams. While exploring all possible scholarship options, we encourage you to apply for the Legence Bank academic and/or FFA Scholarships we have to offer. We strongly encourage you to apply for additional scholarships in which you qualify, both big and small, that will assist you with rising educational costs.

First, consider resources in your community, like Legence Bank. High school counselors and financial aid officers are great resources for helping you understand what scholarships are available. There are also scholarships available through local civic groups, religious organizations, and local businesses.
